## One sentence

B∕A Studio is the first before-and-after studio built on the premise that
the comparison itself must be incapable of lying — a credibility instrument
for massage therapists, facialists and lifting practitioners whose real
results have inherited the skepticism earned by dishonest ones.

## The thesis

Every editing app promises to make you look better; B∕A Studio is
architected so that it cannot. The comparison engine permits only a rigid
similarity transform — move, rotate, uniformly scale. No warp, no liquify,
no mesh, no local retouch exists anywhere in the pipeline. The single
allowed colour adjustment is one global tone match applied identically to
the whole frame, so lighting differences can't masquerade as skin
improvements. The constraint is structural: the dishonest operations do not
exist in the code.

## The science — the B∕A Lift Index

A lifting benchmark with a noise floor, drawing on clinical measurement
standards (COSMIN criteria, GUM uncertainty propagation,
smallest-detectable-change methodology). Facial landmarks are detected on
both images, scaled to real millimetres via intercanthal distance or true
LiDAR depth, and vertical change of key features is measured — then only
change clearing the app's own 95%-confidence repeatability limit counts:

- **Zero by construction:** two photos of an unchanged face score exactly 0.
- **Unbounded and open:** anchored to physical millimetres, published
  openly, auditable by anyone — including competitors.
- **Self-limiting claims:** unverified conditions are labelled exploratory
  on the card itself; visible change within measurement noise is stated as
  exactly that.
- **Tamper advisories:** duplicate-source pairs, re-photographed screens
  and low-resolution captures are detected and blocked or flagged.

## Capture

The guided camera overlays a ghost of the before photo; on iPhone, Enhanced
capture uses LiDAR to physically lock the shutter until the client is within
3 cm of the same distance and 3° of the same pitch as the before shot.
Perspective tricks are simply unavailable.

## The content engine

Every export is composed like an editorial page — warm mat, Didone titling,
gilded seam, the practitioner's logo, optional metadata dock. One tap
renders print-quality Display P3 cards in 4:5, 1:1, 9:16 and 16:9. Video
cards choreograph before/after clips face-aligned in one frame; trimmed
ranges loop as transparent-cornered GIFs. Measurement claims are
structurally excluded from video cards.

## Trust architecture

Exports carry the practitioner's logo visibly and an invisible license
signature steganographically woven into the image — robust to
recompression, openly disclosed, attributing the export to a license and
nothing more. Fully offline: no cloud, no telemetry, no face-recognition
registry; client records are non-biometric by default.
